The 2014 color choices are out from the major manufacturers. These recently released interior and exterior color ideas can help you if you are wondering what the “in colors” are. The discovery you will make is not everyone agrees on the same color.
Sherwin Williams selected a grayish plum color “Exclusive Plum” #6263. It is a mid-tone violet that some refer to as being sophisticated. “This dusky, filtered violet is refined without being stuffy, elegant yet easy, and layered with romantic potential,” says Jackie Jordan, the company’s director of color marketing.

Benjamin Moore went with a light blue color “Breath of Fresh Air Blue” #806. They seem to have gone with a ‘lighter touch’ color staying with the idea of using the room’s furnishings to bring life to the space. This color and other complimentary colors can be found in their “new” neutral palette.

Pittsburgh Paint chooses “Turning Oakleaf” #ATC 38, a light butter cream yellow. This color is definitely staying on the neutral side of the color spectrum. Company officials state it is “a trend toward warmth in harmonious living”. Companion colors tend to go gray and orange to add warmth and energy.
These color combinations still lend themselves to personal preference and taste. You may not think much of one, but fall in love with another. Maybe it is time to turn the page and get a new color(s) in your life to give you a new perspective.
